TCO Training
This is a Taiwan Cetacean Observer (TCO) certification training course that allows observers to learn how to perform cetacean observer tasks, fill out forms and reports.
TCO Practice Course
Course Content
The total course duration is 24 hours, including 1 day of theoretical introduction, 1 day of practice on the boat.
TCO Theory and Forms
TCO tasks, an overview of relevant laws and regulations, an overview of offshore wind power development, the impact of underwater noise on cetaceans, underwater noise mitigation measures, an introduction to whales and dolphins around Taiwan, ranging and observation, filling out and reporting system forms, and maritime safety requirements.
TCO Practice
TCO operation process, observation and ranging practice, form filling and radio notification practice, operation scenario practice, record form review and report filling.
