Sealency
Excerpted from the Preface in Sealency Handbook.
From the 20th to the 21st century, the world pioneered ocean shipping and blue ocean economy, but for a while, the preciousness of marine ecology was ignored.
In the past, we didn’t know that underwater noise would change the ocean, and it was difficult to understand how cetaceans survive in the noisy environment of the ocean.
We in this generation do not only execute the net zero emissions to improve climate change, but also reduce underwater noise to slow the disappearance of marine ecosystems.
We need to learn more about the surrounding marine environment, especially cetacean ecology, underwater noise, and ocean soundscapes.
Sealency Website
We launched the "Sealency" public welfare activity, advocating long-term practical solutions to reduce underwater noise so that the marine ecological environment can be maintained in a sustainable state. This website provides immersive learning methods using various audio-visual and virtual reality methods, and continuously updates information on cetacean ecology and underwater noise, so that more people can understand that cetaceans are threatened by underwater noise pollution.

Sealency Handbook
The first Chinese-language handbook on cetacean ecological surveys and underwater noise monitoring and assessment. This handbook contents an introduction to cetacean species found in the waters around Taiwan, the basic theories and monitoring methods of underwater noise, underwater noise maps and mitigation measures.
